Hi, All

Can anyone tell me which leading technique or method, PSCAD uses during load flow simulation

As you aware, PSCAD is an electromagnetic transient simulation program that represents the electric network as differential equations that are solved for a complete (high bandwidth) solution. The solution is based on a fixed time step using trapezoidal integration. Load flow and stability programs reduce the differential equations to phasor representation (algebraic) based on a steady state frequency, typically the fundamental frequency.

Load Flow is a steady state solution. PSCAD will not do a typical load flow, as would be done in a dedicated load flow program. Once the bus voltages and power flows are known and entered into PSCAD, the PSCAD solution will also have the same corresponding load flow.

It is not normally recommended that a load flow be performed in PSCAD. As you are running relatively small system you may be able to run the system until a steady state is achieved (which would be equivalent to a load flow solution). You can then create a snapshot from the steady state and run the case from the snapshot. Another option would be to modify the initial parameters of the models to equal the steady state values to start the simulation from a state that is very close to steady state.

you are most welcome, thank you, my suggestion is to post your query to support@pscad.com. you can find a better solution.

your realname is green apple? are you working for?

do you have any idea about travelling waves phenomena. if you have any case please kindly send it to me ok bye have a nice day.
